Hyphn collaborated with Miller Nash to provide a comprehensive workplace solution for their offices in Seattle and Portland. The strategy involved a visioning exercise reflecting the firm's goals and values, along with a detailed study on space utilization and forecasting for optimal use and cost savings. The resulting design considers the unique requirements of law firms, balancing the need for private offices with open, dynamic spaces for collaboration and events.

Real Estate Strategy
Through a comprehensive visioning exercise, Hyphn helped Miller Nash establish clear project objectives mirroring the firm's goals and values. This approach considered company culture and a new hybrid work policy in the context of traditional law firm needs. Hyphn further enhanced the strategy by conducting a detailed study on space utilization and forecasting. These analyses provided insights for optimizing the firm's space usage, resulting in significant annual savings.
“While critical, private offices are not effective at fostering collaboration and engagement between staff members. In response, Miller Nash incorporated dynamic, open spaces. These environments host a range of uses for their staff, clients, and hosting public and private events.”
Law offices have unique requirements compared to other types of workplaces. As opposed to the post-pandemic trend of moving to a decentralized, open-desk environment, the sensitive nature of legal work and necessary confidentiality requires a greater number of secured, private offices. While critical, private offices are not effective at fostering collaboration and engagement between staff members. In response, Miller Nash incorporated dynamic, open spaces. These environments host a range of uses for their staff, clients, and hosting public and private events.
Additionally, these open spaces serve as "drop-in" zones for socializing and impromptu work sessions, providing flexibility for staff and creating a vibrant and versatile work environment.
Conference Rooms
Conference rooms were carefully considered in the context of the hybrid office model. All rooms are suitable for client meetings, offering varying capacities to allow for selecting a space that is "right-sized" for the given meeting. Additionally, all rooms have one-touch-start interfaces and schedulers, which are tied directly to the firm’s communication platform, eliminating any friction in meeting setup and management.
The Portland office boardroom features flexible tables that can be arranged in a variety of ways to support traditional roundtable meetings, small events, and workshops.
